Samir, a 14-year-old boy from Afghanistan steps out of the back of a truck one summer night, somewhere in Sweden.
He seeks asylum and ends up in a refugee accommodation in a small and declined industrial town. In this town Ellen, age 14 spend her days skating around on her skateboard, always alone. Her life seems to consist of nothing but a deep desire to get away from there. When Samir and Ellen meet one night, they feel a strong connection. They start to hang out each day and for the first time they begin to create dreams and a belief that life is something more than just surviving.
While Samir’s and Ellen’s solidarity grows, so does the resistance front against the refugee accommodation in the town when violent events occur that put the towns community to the test.
